Where Can Your Inner Light Shine?

The Boy Who Built a Windmill and Saved His Village

William Kamkwamba: 'How I Harnessed t

he Wind'

Create a 9 × 12-inch white paper relief sculpture that shows a meaningful idea about where your “inner light” can shine in the world.

  • Your artwork should combine two connected themes or ideas and use layers, overlapping shapes, folds, and texture to create depth.

What are my two themes?

What does my “inner light” represent?

Where does my light shine?

What will be in the foreground?

What will be in the middle ground?

What will be in the background?

What will be my focal point?

Which paper techniques will I use?
